EFCC identifies the owner of the seized N13bn from a flat in Ikoyi

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has identified Mrs Folashade Oke, the wife of the suspended NIA’s Director-General, Mr Ayo Oke as the owner of the N13bn seized from a flat in Ikoyi area of Lagos State.

Counsel to the EFCC, Rotimi Oyedepo, while speaking to a Federal High Court holding proceedings Lagos said the woman made a deposit of $1,658m for the purchase of the flat between August 25 and September 3, 2015. He however enjoined the court to return the forfeited money to the coffer of the Federal Government.

The counsel however described the money as being extremely suspicious to be proceeds of unlawful acts.

Meanwhile, the outspoken duo of the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose and former Minister of Aviation, Mr Femi Fani-Kayode had maintained their stance that the property in which the money was hidden belonged to the erstwhile Governor of Rivers State and incumbent Minster of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
